Does not work at all
Worked well previously, however it seems incompatible with chrome's new built-in vertical (rather than horizontal) tabs, and tab groups. Edit: It does seem to have compatibility, however the functionality to 'Discard all other tabs' doesn't seem to be able to affect tabs in groups in the same way as regular tabs.
nice extension save my ram every time i use it very good ......
It was good until it opened a page when it auto-updated with ads that also showed an obvious adware extension asking to be installed. Do not install this or you may find yourself tricked into downloading adware or malware
It's not discarding tabs 99% of the time.
Great extension, been looking for something like it for a while now. No complaints.
Pretty cool.
It’s a great app, but it keeps logging me out of Discord and sometimes Reddit. Any idea why?
I'm not convinced this... works? It is telling me tabs are suspended like some zillow tab, but then I hover over it and it says the tab is using 500+ mb?
Been looking so long for smth like this, my queries for this have been dodging it tho. glad to have finally found it tho. Chromium ram management sucks imao
Amazing extension that just helps with the Chrome's insane resource usage. More reliable than the native memory saver features. Look no further, this the extension you're looking for if the Chrome is slowing you down!
Free. No spyware that i know of. Lightweight, no nonsense bloatware, reminds me of those great OG free software that they just dont make anymore these days since everyone has sold out and wants a quick buck.. Does everything I need it to do and much more that i dont need. What more do you want or need? Makes my potato of laptop run great. I can have 20 or 30 tabs open for the price of 1. Thank you very much to the devs, you guy/s are exactly whats great about the world and computing, the internet, and humanity in general. I have never wrote a review before but i think this deserves one. BRAVO! 5 stars!
WOW I LOVE IT. Props to the developpers, very well built extension. Thanks !
Okay. I have edited this review several times now. This extension WOULD be good... if it worked consistently. Every time I shut off my computer the Options menu magically does this very fun thing where it erases everything in there and stops working entirely! How goofy! And utterly rage inducing! Oh how fun it is that when this thing works it's the best one available so you're pretty much screwed on all fronts in this regard! I Love it! Oh, I'm on windows 10 by the way.
This extension is great, it's just missing one thing - basic functionality. Seriously, some people from past reviews have complained that they get tabs being discarded immediately upon leaving them. That would be amazing, as compared to the absolutely ZERO tabs that discard for me, regardless of extension or browser settings, when it was working perfectly just yesterday! Fix your broken extension and maybe I'll change my rating. :) But you won't, because you haven't so far, so why start now? ^^
works great July 2025
Currently, it immediately reactivates a discarded tab when I switch to that tab. Instead, please give us an option so that the tab only reactivates after we right-click or interact with the page. When I'm just tabbing through tabs, it keeps reopening even if I don't want it to. Other extensions provide this option. If I’m using Ctrl+Tab to cycle through tabs in Chrome, it automatically reopens the discarded tab, which we don’t want. It should only reopen after we click somewhere on the page or explicitly choose to activate it.
This works like a charm. I was having trouble with all my Chrome tabs, even though I have an RX 6800 and 64 GB of RAM. I went from over 90% memory usage to under 50%. Excellent.
So powerful and nice extension!
works great !!!
Excellent plugin, thank you! Feature request: Be able to select which options appear in the drop down when I click on the extension. I find myself all too often clicking "discard tabs in other windows" which can be super annoying when I've loaded a bunch of tabs to read offline.
Good stuff! recommend!!
Was great when it worked, currently half the tabs arent getting suspended no matter the options set. Some that are suspended dont show the ZZZ or the dot suspended icon on tab. Did factory reset multiple times, 50-50 odds of anything working. Until its updated, feel free to avoid. Edit, on further testing i noticed tabs going missing. I know for a fact i never close these tabs. Did they got closed on browser restart or while browser was working is unknown.
This extension is honestly pretty meh. It works okay at first, but it doesn’t keep all the tabs suspended. After a while, if the computer sits idle for a few minutes, some tabs just randomly wake up for no reason. Man, I really miss THE GREAT SUSPENDER NO TRACK—that one actually did the job right Edit : this extension is totally garbage edit 2: don't use this extension you will lost all your tabs one by one without knowing
If it did like other extensions and replaced the suspended tab with a blank page or screensaver it would be much better.
need an update... stopped working
Great App... Does what it says... keeps my browsing session ultra light! Kudos to the entire team!
Decent tab suspender that saves youtube timestamps (a must for me). However I find how it imediatelly unsuspends once I select the suspended tab quite annoying. If it did like other extensions and replaced the suspended tab with a blank page or screensaver it would be much better to me, but maybe it can't be helped with this one.
Beside ublock origin and sponsorBlock, probably the greatest extension out there. Thnkas for everything you do.
Doesn't discard OneTab.
